Guide for new live sellers on Facebook

Live selling is the best way to showcase your products to remote customers while interacting with them, offering a shopping experience similar to being in the store. Here you’ll find the tips and strategies to make this possible.

Build a professional Facebook page: Your page is your point of sale, just as important as your website.

  1. Choose a clear and professional page name: Use your exact store name. Avoid complicated or long names. Optionally, include a keyword (Exemple : StoreFashionBoutique).
  2. Add a professional profile picture: Ideally your store logo. Square format, well-centered, high quality.
  3. Use an attractive cover photo: High-quality banner that represents your brand: new arrivals, your store’s aesthetic, or a slogan. Should inspire trust and professionalism.
  4. Fill out the “About” section: One of the most important steps. Include: Clear description of what you sell, payment methods, shipping methods, response times/delay, location (if you have a physical store), website link (if available), conditions of purchase.
  5. Activate the right action buttons: Choose a call-to-action as send message, call, visit website, shop Now...
  6. Organize your albums and photos: Create albums by category (Dresses, Tops, New Arrivals…). Use high-quality images. Avoid blurry or poorly framed photos.
  7. Post regularly (content plan): Your page should be active.
  8. Diversify your content: Use multiple ideas.
  9. Set up Messenger properly: Automated responses. Welcome messages. Fast reply time
  10. Ensure visual quality: Bright, clear photos. Text without errors. Warm, professional, and human tone
  11. Encourage interactions: Use Facebook lives or post orders (very effective for sales). Organize contests or giveaways. Invite your client to like, comment and share your content.
  12. Check professional settings: Correct category (Exemple: Clothing store). Page roles. Security settings. Admin/editor rights

Increase your audience: Your audience is the most important thing on your page, he more you take care of it, the more it will give back to you.

  1. Post regularly and with variety: Alternate between product photos, short videos, stories, live streams, and interactive posts → Regular activity signals an active page and attracts more followers.
  2. Optimize your profile: Professional profile picture and cover photo. Clear shop description and link to your website or online store. Add a call-to-action button (“Shop Now,” “Book,” “Contact”) → Professional profiles helps to build a strong branding.
  3. Create engaging content: It can be lives or posts → Contents engage your audience
  4. Encourage clients to like and share: Include on your website an attractive text/image about your page: “Join our page to see live updates and new arrivals.” → Organic shares increase reach.
  5. Collaborate with influencers: Micro-influencers or loyal customers can share your products. Their followers discover your page and may follow it → More exposure about your brand helps the notoriety of your page
  6. Targeted advertising: Use Facebook Ads to create and publish Ads for a specific audience to reach it → Advertising is the best way to quickly increase your audience.
  7. Build a community: Respond quickly to comments and messages. Ask open-ended questions and seek opinions on products → More engagement = Facebook shows your page to a wider audience.

Discover the reasons for customer dissatisfaction with live sellers

  1. **Late or inaccurate delivery: **Customers don’t receive their orders on time or get the wrong product → Ensure clear order tracking. Inform customers of realistic delivery times before purchase. Use automated notifications to keep customers updated.
  2. Lack of response to questions: Customers ask questions during the live or via messages and don’t get answers → Prepare a moderator to answer live comments. Enable Messenger with automated replies for frequent questions. Make sure to respond quickly to private messages.
  3. Product quality differs from what is shown: Products received don’t match expectations set during the live (color, size, materials) → Show products in detail, from multiple angles, and zoom in on textures and colors. Provide precise information about sizes and materials.
  4. Complicated ordering process: Customers don’t know how to place an order or confirm their purchase** **→ Clearly explain the ordering steps during the live. Provide real-time support to guide customers.
  5. No follow-up after purchase: Customers don’t receive confirmation or order updates after the live → Always send a confirmation email or message. Provide a tracking number and after-sales support. Request feedback to show you care about their experience.
  6. Poor live experience: The live is hard to follow: slow, poor lighting, bad audio, too many confusing comments → Prepare lighting and sound before the live. Structure the live ( product presentation, questions , offers, order reminders... Have a moderator to manage comments and questions.)
  7. Promotions and stock mismanagement: Customers buy expecting a promotion that is no longer valid or a sold-out product → Clearly display available stock and valid promotions. Update stock in real time in your app or platform. Indicate when a product is almost out of stock.

  14. Use inventory to update the stock: An order for an out-of-stock product cannot be processed during your live stream. To avoid this issue, you must update your stock before each live stream or allow customers to oversell the item by letting them order out-of-stock items. (Note that in this case, the delivery time will be longer for the customer.)
